Wonder Woman: The TV show

Wonder Slug, Away!

I am a huge WW fan. So to this, I will say:

ABOUT FREAKING TIME! WOO WOO!

*Ahem*

All right, so it's just a pilot, but it's more then she's gotten in a long time, seeing as the last time WW got her own TV series, it was the 70s. And yes, that's including animated TV shows as well.

I was nervous at first. Wondy has not had the greatest luck with writers. In fact, the last couple of decades have had more then a few tragic moments *cough*AmazonsAttack*cough*.

But the more I hear, the more excited I get. I mean, the writing team has the guys who worked on Boston Legal and Supernatural. Which means we have someone that can successfully write moments that involve magic and can write believable and intelligent characters. I'll admit, I was also nervous when I heard that she was going to be a company executive. Yes, that's right.

But when the early script was leaked, I heard that the part was written well for her. And when I think about it, it makes sense. As Diana Prince, Wonder Woman never had ritzy glamourous jobs, but ones that made sense for women at the time. Back when she started, her secret identity was a nurse, or a secretary, or a boutique owner, etc. So a modern day business woman makes sense, to me at least. And instead of being set at the beginning, it's gonna be set several years later. And the script has it's issues, (Wonder woman has a pj party with her bff-- wait, what?)  but it's an early script so I'm not too worried.

Also, Wonder Woman has her own version of Baker Street Irregulars. Huh.

The actress has now been picked: Adrianne Palicki. Her look reminds me of Wonder Woman back in the Golden and Silver age. She has the height and she a little muscular. And base on what I'm hearing, she has the acting ability too. I've never seen Friday Night lights, but thankfully, youtube exist and she's pretty good. And Linda Carter, the actress from the original series, vouches for her which is a major plus.

But I doubt worries will be lifted until the costume is revealed and the pilot starts rolling. But if things keep going the way they are, this is gonna be one epic series.

By the way, the information i found on the script was from this articles: Comics Alliance: WW TV Show Pilot Review
And the picture is from this article: Deadline Hollywood: Adrianne Palicki is NBCs WW

By the way-- I'm trying out a multi-color scheme now, tell me what you think ^_^

Calgary's 7th Avenue

No silliness or rants today. Just wanted to mention this touching article about one of Calgary's most avoided spots: Hope waning on Calgary's 7th Avenue

Michael Bay, What is this hold you have over me?

Ba weep gra na weep nini bong, readers. And if you got that reference, then you may understand my pain. The pain of the Transfan.

Okay, backstory: I love transformers. I even loved the first Michael Bay movie. And yes, I also liked the second. I actually posted a review of the second transformers movie on DA, where I gave it a 7/10. Thats right. 7. Out. Of 10. Why? I could plead insanity, but it came down to that, the things I liked outweighed the bad for me. It was fun, filled with lots of action and a lot of nostalgia and I left the theater smiling. You can check it out here: I'm such a plug monster...

That doesn't mean that I didn't hate the racism (even if I see it as accidental), Megan fox, the crotch jokes-- Oh my gosh the STUPID CROTCH JOKES!--- and the dumb sexualizing of things that did not need sexualizing. To say the least.

And despite liking the second, I was in no way looking forward to the third. The second movie got on my good side by luck. And I could see the direction the movies were going. I am still saying now that the third movie is going to be hated even more then the second.

I watched the first teaser, and indeed, I did face palm.

Some time later, I watched the first trailer.

I smiled.

WHY?! WHY IN THE NAME OF JUNKION DID I SMILE?!

Nothing was told to us in the trailer. It was nothing but slow motion flashes of robots fighting, characters and explosions. Y'know, everything that was in EVERY OTHER TRAILER FOR THE FIRST 2 MOVIES?!

What is it with me? Is there actually a part of my brain that is so filled with testosterone that I become a stereotypical macho guy every time I see explosions and robots? (Apologies to stereotypical macho guys everywhere)

Its official. The movie is going to come out. It's going to be horrible. And I am going to love every moment of it. Because Michael Bay apparently owns a piece of my brain.

Happy Valentines Day!

Or in my case, Happy "Oh Crud, I'm Gonna Be Single Till I'm 40, Aren't I!?" Day.

What? I'm not bitter. Not as long as I have chocolate ^_^

Okay, kidding aside, I hope everyone has a great day and finds someone to spend it with, whether it's a close lover, a close friend, or the latest episode of Bones.
